2024 | Nemea, Peloponnese
Semeli Piccolo Mondo Red
The grape agiorgitiko is a submerged myth. There is an old legend that tells the story of the rich, dark, soft and mysterious Agiorgitiko wines from the region of Nemea in Peloponnese and that the taste of it originated from the vineyards which were painted with the blood of the lion that killed Hercules. This half sweet red wine Piccolo Mondo Red is best served when slightly cooled. You will sense the intense aromas of red fruit and taste the silk soft tannins, followed by a sweet, fruity aftertaste. Lovely with meat and pasta with mildly red sauces. Also very lovely as an appetizer with fruit or dried nuts.

About the winemakers
The winemakers of the Seméli Estate are real experts that get a lot of praise from wine experts all over the world. Founded by the married couple George and Anne Kokotos in Attica, after which it expanded to Peloponnesos with the purchase of several vineyards in Nemea and Mantineia. After three decades of big success the Kokotos are now retired. The new hyper modern Seméli winery is now being managed by the Sallas family. And George and Anne? They returned to their hometown of Attica to make biologic wines in small batches. Tip: It is even possible to stay a night at the vineyard. An unique experience with the necessary, fine winetasting sessions.
