Tselepos Estate Avlotopi
Volgens Yiannis Tselepos worden goede wijnen in de wijnkelder gemaakt, maar geweldige wijnen beginnen in de wijngaard. Daarom ligt bij Ktima Tselepos de focus op het perfectioneren van hun 65 hectare aan eigen wijngaarden, gelegen op de vruchtbare hellingen van de Parnonas-berg. Avlotopi is een elegante rode wijn, gemaakt van Cabernet Sauvignon. Deze wijn heeft een diepe rode kleur en wordt geproduceerd via de klassieke rode vinificatiemethode, waarbij de schil langdurig contact heeft (20-25 dagen) en de wijn vervolgens 15 maanden rijpt op nieuw Frans eikenhout.

About the winemakers
‘Good wines are produced in a winery, but great wines are being produced in a vineyard.’, the motto of Yiannis Tselepos. In 1989 Yiannis and Amalia had the ambition to create something new in Greek wines. With only their vision and their love for wine, they have started Tselepos Estate. And success came, because the winehouse nowadays has a 650 hectares long yard and has three different locations. The first vineyard is located on the historic mountain Parnonas at 750 meter altitude, the second one is located on the beautiful Santorini and the third location is in the region of Koutsi, Nemea. 50 year old vines and a altitude of 380 meters produce a tasteful and intense wine there.
